Working in close partnership with England Para Talent & Manchester City Council, COMAST are launching a second Matt Walker MBE Disability Swim Academy, to run alongside the current session held at Manchester Aquatics Centre.
As part of their “Backing the Best – Start Para Swimming” initiative, England Para Talent are funding the new project to ensure costs to families participating remain low. The Academies are for swimmers with a physical disability (including cerebral palsy, amputees, spinal injuries, dwarfism, polio, spina bifida, multiple sclerosis, or arthrogryposis) or visual impairment that can swim 25m and are comfortable in deep water.
These weekly sessions are designed to develop technical and competitive skills and work towards becoming a classified Para-Swimmer. All sessions are led by fully qualified, highly experienced City of Manchester Aquatics Swim Team Coaches.
The new weekly session will be held on Mondays between 6pm & 8pm at Wright Robinson Sports College. The Academy will share space with existing COMAST Swim Squad, Icebergs.
INAUGURAL SESSION: MONDAY 8TH APRIL
